10 Ideas for a Fun Filled Easter Basket

The Bouncing-Off-The-Walls-Sugar-High-Followed-By-A-Crash Day will be here in a few days. How do you prepare? Do you limit the sugary goodness in your tykes Easter basket or do you just roll with it and figure it’s just one day?

J-Man is already full of so much energy that I try to limit his sugar intake. Just thinking about him on a sugar high wears me out. So, I prepare for that day by filling his Easter basket with objects and just a few treats.

First, use a sand bucket, wagon or backpack and fill it with goodies instead of the traditional Easter Basket.

Second, fill it with some of these fun finds…

Headlamp – Such a great piece of gear for night exploring whether it’s around the neighborhood, during a camping trip or returning from a hike.

Outdoor Alphabet Shirt or Onesie – Every tyke needs one of these.

Yaylabs Ice Cream Ball – Talk about something to get them excited for Summer and camping! Practice this Spring with different recipes so when the time comes you can have gourmet ice cream at camp.

Camera – I think every tyke should have their own camera. Doesn’t have to be anything fancy. It could even be a disposable one. It’s a great opportunity to see the world around them in a different view and to see their perspective of the world. J-Man has been using this one for the past 3 years and it is still going strong.

Bubbles – They can take them anywhere…hiking, picnics, the backyard, playground or anywhere else outside they might need to be occupied.

Magnify glass – This can also be taken anywhere. It’s so fun for tykes to examine things up close.

Sunglasses – Perfect time of year for a new pair of sunglasses to protect their precious eyes from the sun’s harmful rays.

Bucket and Shovel – These can be used almost anywhere. Keep them in the car and you’ll always have something to occupy your tykes when outside.

Anything they need for camping or hiking. I like to get useful things that J-Man needs for the upcoming season. (socks, boots, water shoes, sun hat, etc…)

Of course there has to be some sort of sugary treat right? What’s Easter without a basket full of chocolate eggs and jelly beans? Mix in some of these healthier treats to balance out the Peeps, Cadbury Eggs and chocolate bunnies…

What goodies are you filling your tykes Easter Basket with this year? Do you send them on an Easter egg hunt?
