National Trails Day Hike…

Sorry about the little hiatus last week. I always have a hard time keeping up with posts when traveling. Not so easy finding wireless with a toddler in tow.

But I am back…

Saturday was National Trails Day and, of course, we had to participate.

With the temperatures in the 90’s what better way to hike than to choose a trail that runs in a creek full of water, mud, frogs, snakes and mini waterfalls?  Options for water in the desert are slim but here in Moab we have a few. J-Man had never been on this hike and it is quite easy so it was a simple choice. The whole family went along including J-Man’s uncle.

Cruisin the creek with Dad.

Frog burying himself in the mud to stay cool.

Lovin the creek!

Snack break.

Fun is coming to an end.

All the fun wore him out. He had to hitch a ride back.

Were you able to enjoy National Trails Day? If not, did you spend time outside?

Comments

  1. It looks like you all had a beautiful day! The creeks look like a lot of fun.

  2. We love playing with water on our nature adventures, too. (It becomes especially important now that summer is here.) We spent quite a bit of time playing in a water this weekend, too, while visiting a new-to-us botanic garden.

    • Water can definitely make summertime more fun. Especially, on the HOT days. Instead of staying outside the kids can still run and play. Thanks for sharing.
