Friday Fun Day – Bird Feeder

I love this time of year when the birds are singing in the crisp cool mornings. Nothing like sitting on the balcony with a hot cup of coffee listening to their songs.

J-Man is in thralled with birds and I thought a bird feeder would be a fun and great way to observe them.

There are all sorts of different types of bird feeders on the market but you can be creative and make your own.

Here are few different homemade bird feeders I found on the web:

Milk carton bird feeder from Disney Family Fun.

Bagel bird feeder, Pine Cone Bird feeder from About.com Family Crafts section.

Here’s a great list of homemade bird feeders from TLC. com.

I chose to buy a pre-made wood bird feeder that came with paint. I figured J-Man would have fun painting it and he did.  (This is the one we purchased: Paint-A-Bird Feeder)

Let the painting begin!

Thumbs up, Mom! Fun project.

Finished!

Do you have a bird feeder or bird bath in your backyard? What other ways do you interact or observe wildlife?
